👉 This update has been expected for several years and has now become a reality! 🔝 On 27 July 2023, the European Union published the new Regulation 2023/1545 which modifies the labelling of fragrance allergens in cosmetic products and, thereby, amending Annex III of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 concerning cosmetic products.
📋 Prior to the update, the ingredient list was required to mention 25 fragrance allergens. Following this change, the list now contains 81 allergens that must be reported. Annex III of the Cosmetic Products Regulation contains the list of restricted substances. Here is a short overview of the changes ⤵
✅ 17 entries have been modified 👉 including 16 entries containing allergens
With our RSA cosmetic module, available in ExESS, you will be able to easily know if your products exceed the limits and you will be able to generate a dedicated allergen report.
ℹ The Regulation will enter into effect on 16 August 2023. Cosmetic products containing the amended and newly added substances that do not comply with the new restrictions (assuming they comply with the previous Regulations) can be introduced on the Union market until 31 July 2026 and distributed until 31 July 2028.
